Kokotere (Baucau)

English: Kokotere is an instrument played as a calling signal by the shepherd, when some animals of his herd disappear or to drive them to the pen. Kokotere is also used to cheer the shepherd himself when he is tired. This instrument is made of bamboo and it is tied with palm leaves in the points. The way it is tied affects the sound. Karkeit (Atauro)

English: Karkeit is an instrument used to cheer people at night, under the moonlight. This instrument is used when the farmer finishes his work, and also as a means to attract women. To make sound, the karkeit is held by the lips and in one of its extremities a thread is tied to be played with the hands. The tongue is used to tune the keys and it is accompanied by respiration. Kakalo'uta (Lospalos)

English: Traditional music instrument from the Fataluku ethnology, of the Lautém district, that is currently going extinct. This instrument is made of the tree Ai Solda (Ai Pokura in Fataluku). So far there has not been any research to identify the musical notes of this instrument.
