Almost 35 years on, there are still questions as to what actually happened to the five Australian journalists in Balibo that October morning. The Indonesian government insists that the five were caught in crossfire between Indonesian troops and Fretelin forces.
In 2007, an Australian coronial inquiry found that the journalists had been deliberately killed by Indonesian troops. It's an amazing story and a horrific one.
