Footage shows the moment the tower in the German city is destroyed in the biggest controlled explosion ever in Europe.Tens of thousands of spectators have turned up to watch the demolition of a 116-metre (380-ft) skyscraper in Frankfurt.

The former university tower AfE came down in seconds in the largest controlled building demolition ever in Europe.

It required 950 kilogrammes of explosives to bring down the 41-year-old tower, the German newspaper
