Donkey race during the Swahili culture festival in Lamu, Kenya’s oldest living t
During the last week of November the old town of Lamu in Kenya holds an annual festival intended to showcase the rich Swahili culture of the Lamu Archipelago and to help preserve the unique art and handicraft of Kenya’s oldest living town.
The "artistic" highlight of the festival, how typical of humans, is a donkey race. Local donkey jockeys spend the entire year training for the event on the expense of the poor donkeys of course.
