In Kodi version 16 support was added for long-press on remote buttons. By utilising the long-press feature you can use the same button twice. Short-press does "OK" and long-press activates the "context menu". Especially with remotes like the from the NVIDIA SHIELD this makes using Kodi a way better experience as you are always short on a button.
This behaviour can be adjusted in the remote.xml files to alter to your own liking.
